I just made a new PC for the first time. But it's slow. Slower than my old pre-built PC. Lenovo x315
New PC specs.

MOBO - Prime Z270-A
CPU - Core i3 7100
4gb Ballistix Sport Lt 4gb DDR4 ram
Zotac GeForce 750ti
1tb Barracuda Hard Drive.
Hyper 212 Evo
And 3 120mm fans.

Any ideas? I saw a video paired a 750ti and a core i3 to play Battlefield 1 on medium settings. This build couldn't even properly run low graphics.

Despite your ram being a bit lower than the 12gb in the 315x models I've seen, your pc is a pretty good upgrade over its hardware.

What are your temperatures like? Perhaps something's overheating. Check with something like Speccy while idling and gaming: https://www.piriform.com/speccy

I see "low" & "medium" in your post, but I don't see the resolution. I wouldn't expect a GTX 750TI to even be able to hit 1440p, let alone 4K, resolutions, so hopefully you weren't attempting that. That being said...your CPU is probably OK (http://www.techspot.com/review/1267-battlefield-1-benchmarks/page4.html; should be similar to the i3-6100 they tested with). Your GPU, OTOH, is going to be on the low side (http://www.techspot.com/review/1267-battlefield-1-benchmarks/page2.html), but since they were testing on Ultra I would hope that medium would be passable.

Did you:
-- check to make sure you connected to the GTX 750TI (i.e. not the motherboard output, but the output directly on the GPU)?
-- check your CPU & GPU temps when playing?
-- test with multiple resolutions & quality settings to see if there were any differences?

1080p,
GPU temp around 35° - 45°

Battlefield 1 should be able to play this on at least medium settings, but as I said, can't even properly play on the lowest settings and sometimes freezes for like 5 seconds, even on cutscenes.

Oh my Lenovo Erazer x315 had 4gb not 12gb, paired with an AMD r9 m360 2gb and it actually ran smoother than this PC I just built.

How is the PC's general performance outside of gaming? Any unusual CPU or disk activity?

That 4gb ram is certainly a problem, 8gb is the minimum recommended by EA: https://www.battlefield.com/en-gb/games/battlefield-1/tech

Yes it will start on 4gb ram, but as soon as that 4gb gets 100% utilised your system is forced to use the swapfile instead and your FPS will fall through the floor.

Nothing wrong with your CPU or GPU specs, they should be able to handle BF1 no problem.

If i had to guess I'd say it's either low ram or some sort of temperature issue, most likely CPU

Nothing's wrong outside of gaming. The 4b ram I'm aware of, but I'm concerned why this new build is much worse than my old PC that also has a 4gb ram. All drivers are up to date, too.

45° while gaming? I would expect 60-65° for that card under load

Can we check the CPU temps? If installed correctly there's no way a 50w cpu chip with a hyper 212 cooler would overheat, but let's at least cross it off the list. Download HWinfo64 to monitor CPU temps, and download prime95 to stress test the CPU and see what temps it reaches.

Ohh while gaming CPU tem reaches at around 55-67 but doesn't go below 49
