Hey everyone,

I'm reaching to you as my laptop is getting slower and slower, and I hope you can help me understand the issue.

It is slow to a point where I have to wait >10s to see a Youtube video on Chrome. Every software I try to use takes ages to get started (excel, Chrome mainly).

I've cleant all downloads, ran CCleaner

My config is as follows (HP Omen ax015nf)
OS : Windows 10
CPU : Intel Core i5 6300HQ @ 2.30GHz
RAM : 6,00 Go Dual-Channel Unknown @ 1064MHz
Graphics : 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M (HP)
Storage : 931GB Hitachi HGST HTS721010A9E630 (SATA )

I feel the problem comes from the harddrive (always up to 100% tasked when I feel the lag), but I'd like to understand if this is a hardware problem or if formatting would be sufficient.

Running a S.M.A.R.T check gives the following, all indicators are green but one striking value is Reported Uncorrectable Errors : 64 424 837 120

What do you guys think / what's your suggestions ?

Thank you for your help !

More than one person has been plagued with sluggish system after a WIn10 update....

I'd clone your laptop as is to an external drive(just in case), then gather your laptop's required drivers ahead of time, and try a full reinstall (delete partition, reinstall from freshly created media from Microsoft of latest Win10 Home or Pro (as appropriate ) they have for download.

I don't the HDD is causing the slowness, those SMART values are all marked as "Good", looks fine to me.

I think the cause lies elsewhere - - - something else is causing those 100% activity spikes on the HDD, not the HDD itself.

Test RAM, also test temperatures when you first notice sluggishness starting to creep in.
