Question Slow File Transfer

Hi folks,

I bought a Crucial Gen3 NVMe SSD and Sabrent enclosure(ec-snve) to house it.
No matter what I do speeds drop almost instantly to ~35mb. Not the fast speeds I was hoping for. My physical platter 4TB WD ext drive works faster on a USB 2.0 port.
The Sabrent/Crucial is connected via USB C/ 3.1 with various cables tried and have tried Type A 3.0 to C cables with the same result. I have tried indexing on, off etc drivers are all up to date.

I'm running an AMD X2700x on an MSI X470 Gaming Pro Carbon MOBO.
I'm running a fresh (all up yo date) install of W10 which I downgraded from W11 owed to this MOBOs terrible TPM implementation.

Tearing my hair out, help!

Run a pass of 'crystal disk mark' on the ssd see what it shows.

Solved it.

Slow cables was the problem, despite being rated.
Just tried a spare from a friend and it worked as it should.
