Hi, there mates,
So I was going on in my life with my internet connection providing me around 100 KB/s downstream ( I dont upload so no worries on upload 😛) until when I was with my mate at our town street where he told me he got access to a wifi network from somewhere nearby (more like he cracked the password) and I was like meh, they have the same old 100 KB/s speed when I saw that he was actually getting around 900 - 800 KB/s that too with 30% signal strength, I was totally baffled and knowing the fact that none around here would be willing to pay rs. 3000 - 4000 ($50 - $60) per month I went home to browse the current ISP plan, BTW In my area we only got one ISP.
And saw that the plans were upgraded,
Fast forward and now I have changed my plan, it is 10Mbps (Megabits) for first 10 GB, post, 2mbps cuz they got this useless FUP (FAIR USAGE POLICY) thing,
But now I am getting around 50 - 40 KBps, in the meantime I went to my router settings and had reset them and re-entered them.
Doing a bit of research I found out that you need more "SNR value" as possible and low "line attenuation" value as possible.
Mine are rather very bad
here's how it is
SNR Margin (0.1dB) : 80 (downstream) | 276(upstream)
Attenuation (0.1 dB) : 505 (downstream) | 270(upstream)
Attainable Rate (Kbps) : 552(downstream) | 1173(upstream)
Any solution...
Thanks for any help ...
PEACE...
