Slow internet speeds on 1 pc but if i fix it the other one gets bad speeds

I have had this problem for around 2 months, I have come to the conclusion that if my personal pc gets 100/100 internet, then my sister's tablet, laptop and my dad's laptop get bad connections. I am not downloading anything. If my pc internet is locked at 10/10 for some odd reason( if i open device manager, uninstall the driver and reboot the system it goes back to 100/100) my sister's tablet laptop and my dad's laptop work absolutely fine. When I reboot the router, my internet goes 10/10 and the other gadgets get fast internet. I really need help with this, It seems not to be a problem with the drivers (I have a asus z97-p)

1. Try NIC Diver version "Realtek 7.17.304.2010".

This year i had the exact same problem. (Windows only sees Gigabit NIC as 10/100.) so i decided the Network card was fubar. (tried every conceivable way to fix it. and a physical problem seemed the only possible conclusion. and i bought a replacement card.)

then just before replacing it; i noticed the 1000 LED had magically lit up again; and expecting for it to fail again i GIDed the problem; GID results i came to were that using an older driver might fix it because of reports that newer NIC drivers DLed through Windows, had been troublesome for many.

and an older driver fixed it! "Realtek 7.17.304.2010" (DL it from any major OEM site. i may have found it on an old disk.)

(Extra stuff to note that may jog memory or give u further ideas.... )

2. Check to be sure all Ethernet cables are Cat-6 and NOT just Cat-5e. Because occasionally it matters with Gigabit LAN. (which can cause problems with internet speeds too... if it drops u to 10/100.) The only exception i had for a long time was a coupler used to extend a shorter Cat-6 cable; was accidentally Cat-5e when i originally thought it did not matter. that single Cat5e coupler caused the same problem as a newer NIC driver (Gigabit NIC only 10/100 speeds).

3. if ur like me and enjoy configuring ur Router and... i set Reserved IP's for each device in my Router and set static IP's for each device in their configs (Settings). But recently concluded that maybe using "DHCP" is a better choice for a NIC's config (Settings); because the Reserved IP in my Router will assign the given Reserved IP to the Device it is reserved for. (Just remember to update the Reserved IP if a MAC ever changes!... i forgot recently on another PC that truly had a fubar NIC; and it took a 8 days to realize it. not sure of the ramifications; but to be safe i updated the MAC in my Router as soon as i realized it; and because it is an HTPC server, i also disabled "Sleep" on the NIC too; and i think it fixed my WMC Extenders that were having connection problems.)
