Slow SSD speeds

So everyone was recommending the samsung 840 Evo and I've had it for about 2 months but I am having a terrible experience with this drive. Getting very low read speeds. Around 380mbps. And about 50k iops. Write speeds are fine. Tried everything. I tried the latest amd ahci drivers with no change. Updated firmware with the new recovery tool samsung released with no luck. Any ideas?

Achi yes. Cables yes. Just tried rapid mode. 2200mbps read but only 75k read iops

What are the write speeds? I have the 840pro which has similar speeds to the evo. Only time I had speeds that low is when I had it plugged into the secondary SATA ports. Make sure you are using the ones built into the motherboards chip, and not a secondary chip.

mb or MB? Mbps? The capitalization matters. 409mbps is horribly slow, while 409MBps is only slow.

Did you check what SATA port you are using yet? It needs to be on the one built into the board/Southbridge. Not an expansion chip.

MB/s as Samsung magician puts it. My mobo is a ASUS m5a97 r2.0 with all 6 sata ports at 6Gbps. I have no secondary chip

Update firmware? Can you test it in another rig? Might be a bad drive and need an RMA.

Updated yes, this is my only rig to test. Drive is 2 months old. Cant RMA it

You don't know anyone with another computer that you can put it in and test?

RMA can happen within the warranty of the drive. I'm not sure what the EVO has, but I'm sure it's at least a 1yr. Probably longer.
