I've got a desktop computer built on a Gigabyte X570 Gaming X motherboard using an onboard Realtek Gaming GbE Family Controller. Speedtest up/down speeds are commensurate with what I can expect for my FIOS Gigabit connection. However, transferring files to/from mapped drives on my employer's Azure server goes at about 1.5 MB/sec.
I knew it was too slow but thought that was all I could get... until I got another computer, with an onboard Dell Gigabit Ethernet controller, which behind the same router consistently gets 40 MB/sec transfer speeds to the same mapped drives.
Transferring between the two computers also goes at about 40 MB/sec. Only transfers from the original computer to the mapped Azure drives are slow. Any ideas? I've thought about buying a new network adapter for the original computer — I can get one based on an Intel chip for $21 right now — but would that help?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
