I just got an MSI B550 Tomahawk MOBO, but the front USB 3.0 ports are really slow. I have a 7200RPM HDD, but when I try to copy movies to my USB stick the writing speed is only 5-7 Mb/s. I checked whether I connected it to the right place, but I did. Is there an option in BIOS I could check?

Those look normal. Random reads/writes are not nice for a hdd (and this file transfer is a sequential read, so the hdd is not the bottleneck.) The bios probably isn't hampering it if you've left alone the USB-related options. If you're running windows 11 with VBS on, turn it off. ( How to Disable VBS ) . I surmise VBS was designed to add a wall between peripherals and the memory and other trusted innards, so that might have a hand in it.
I would suggest trying another USB stick. They can vary quite a bit.

I wonder how much of a difference this makes?
Try enabling write caching.
  1. Right click on the drive in windows explorer and select properties.
  2. Click the "hardware" tab.

  3. Double click on the usb.
  4. Click the "Policies" tab.

  5. Hit the "better performance" radial button
