Hi, i just built a new PC and I wanted to change my RAM settings.
When enabling DOCP and setting it to 6400mhz/CL 32 my PC boots and shuts down noticeably slower. Can anyone help?
My PC specs:
7950x3d
Asus x670e tuf gaming plus wifi
Rtx 3070 - to be replaced
2x16 corsair vengeance 6400/CL32
Samsung 990 evo pro 1tb
Corsair RM1000e

I forgot to mention. My base speed when I built my PC was 4800 in BIOS. When I used DOCP it automatically set it up to 6400 and I noticed 2x longer boot times. I set it to 5200 as AMD recommends without DOCP at 40 Cas latency. Can you manually change CL times without using xmp/docp?

I think you are worrying to much about ram speed, cl times etc. The differences in changing any of it would be minute. I would chance to say that if I changed the speed, cl timings etc in small steps between each, you would not be able to tell me which setting I changed is the better one. The only thing you would notice is if I did what you did and went too high in settings.

Hey there,

Open up CPU-z and go to the speed tab. Note what XMP setting are there. Note down the CL number.

Go into the bios set the speed to 6000mhz manually. Set CL to 32 or whatever its rated for. Change the voltage to what is recommended in the speed tab for the xmp profile. Leave all else on auto. Then save and reboot. If it does not boot you will either have to reset the bios or clear CMOS if it's a failed OC.

Are you sure that ram is for amd it looks like it's for intel.

Post a link to the ram you bought.
