slower download speeds

i want to know why my download speeds after speed testing show 48MBps but when downloading on steam or other sites they all show 6-7MBps making a download take 5 hours. what can i do? i clear caches, dont run other apps,

Steam reports in megaBytes/sec
Your ISP and speedtest report in megabits/sec.
Big B small b.

8:1 ratio.
6* 8 == 48.

welp chop that up to my negligence. ive been working at getting anything and everything out speed wise as i could.
