Small microlag/stuttering that PC seems to be having

Hello everyone.

I didnt know where to post this, so I decided to post this on the bug thread.

My computer is having microlag/stuttering problem that appear seemingly out of nowhere (randomly) that can only be fixed with either time or a reboot.

I first realised the problem existed when I was playing either music or videogames. At every 5-10 second, it was like the game or music had a micro second of lag or freeze that would end up making a 8bit like noise.

First I thought it was my headphone making the problem, but I realised it was the computer itself that was having those micro lag/stuttering problem. When I moved the cursor, it moved normally, but would suddently move further away from what I would expect.

I googled but I couldn't find the solution for this problem.

I runned Malwarebyte and everything was clean. My graphic driver are up-to-date and so is Windows update.<

It started a week ago or so (maybe 2) and seems to be happening after coming back from sleep (the computer, not me)

I think it could be the SSD drive failing on me or the CPU giving up...

I had a similar frustrating situation with my Z97 build. I finally discovered the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 driver and the NVidia apps and utilities were the cause of the problem.

The first thing I did was completely delete the GTX 760 driver that was installed and all of the NVidia apps and utilities. I temporarily used the default video settings. Everything seemed okay.

Next I reloaded the GTX 760 drivers and the rest of the NVidia apps & utilities. It wasn't long before the problem was back.

I deleted everything again and installed only the GTX 760 video driver. I unchecked all the other boxes. I also checked the box for a clean install. It worked. Have not had any problems since then. Here is a link to the one I installed:

The download included the entire suite of applications and utilities. I only installed the driver. I unchecked everything else because I am not a gamer and did not need things like support for 3D Vision or additional audio support.

In all probability there is still a glitch somewhere in the NVidia apps and utilities.

Well I am impressed with the quality of the answer. One thing, me on the other hand, im a gamer, is there another solution beside losing 3D Vision? (is it necessary to play, like, metal gear solid 5 Phantom Pain?)

Install one of those apps at a time and test for a week.

I still have the stuttering/microlag problem. I disinstalled everything except PhysX which I need to run my games.

Does anyone have a new solution to give?

Alright I tried it for a while and it seems it only happen when I put the PC on sleep then coming back from it.

I tried removing everything from Nvidia (except the PhysX one) and it still cause microlag/stuttering.

Now what? I can't remove PhysX, I need it for gaming reason
