SMART Disk Shift

Hey Guys,

Just wondering whats the acceptable level for SMART Disk shift Value?

I've seen drives as high as 12,000 value for disk shift value.

Are disk shift only cause when the drive is on or can they happen when the drive are off (Dropped via shipping).

I also heard Temp can cause disk shift so what sort of temps would cause this?

Yes, drops or temps and not usually an issue unless this is going in a server or something critical

Looks like some dodgy courrier has dropped them or something 🙁

Back to the manufacture they go.

Most likely it was thrown from one location to another, like from the loading dock into the back of the truck.
