smart television is not in the same room as my computer

how do i update a smart Television when it is in a different room to the computer

Thank you I was told by a Telstra employee that my modem was wi fi well it is but it is not configured I will ring them again.

Maybe your modem has wi fi. Take a look at it and you can easily see if it includes wi fi.

Oh yeah, one more thing. Besides your modem including wi fi, which it probably does because almost all of them do, your TV has to also have wi fi, which it probably doesn't.
