Smartbook no internet

Hello,
I have a Sylvania smartbook with Windows Embedded CE 6, but no programs, nothing in the control panel. Only has My Computer and Recycle Bin. There is no WIFI power tab on desktop. The internet tab on bottom right GETCE6B1 has only one tab " IP Information. It does not have a tab for "Wireless Information. I clicked on details but no place for me to enter information.

You don't have the newest version of Windows CE. you will have to update it with an SD card, you will need to go to the mfgrs' website. here it is:

It will give you access to the new OS update and wifi fix exe files.
to update your os you need to put the sd card in your computer either with a usb/sd adapter or if you have an sd slot put it there.
Go to My computer after the card is reconized and right click on it and format.... Do not use Quick format, it will take a while.

Download the "sylvania_smartbook_OS_update.zip" file, extract it into a sub-directory, I will show a folder "script" and a .doc file for changes.

After the sd card is formatted open it up in file explorer and copy the script directory from above to the Root of the sd card

remove the sd card and put it in the Synet07256 smartbook sd slot, MAKE SURE THE POWER IS OFF>>>.

When seated turn the power on and it will re-flash the bios and update your installation, fix the wifi and make the desktop look like a cross between XP and Vista. wifi should work better after the update.
BTW.... I just did this yesterday to my 37 dollar smartbook from MacMall, It might take more than one try but you will know when it works..... LOL
