Hello. I hope i'm posting in the right place?

I have a problem, I'll try to explain as best as i can. My hard drive recently died so obviously i had to reinstall windows 10.

After i reinstalled i plugged in my EasyCap SMI Grabber. Windows tried to install a driver but i kept getting a error telling me the device cannot start. I had used a driver backup tool.

Out of curiosity i created a virtual machine but this time i installed the driver BEFORE i plugged in the grabber, i was asked to trust the source and i agreed, this worked and now the device seems to be functioning on the Virtual machine..

I went back to my physical machine and i attempted to remove the driver and reinstall the working driver before i connected the grabber but once again the device won't start. As it's a new machine i didn't get the opportunity to create a restore point so i was wondering if there's anyway of fixing this issue?

I can post any information that may assist in resolving my predicament.

I tried using driver magician but it's not displaying the grabber in the list of drivers. I also tried pnputil /enum-drivers but no joy.

Hi Lutfij. I think you may have misunderstood my issue. I have a working driver but it only works if i install the driver first and then the actual grabber. I've done it on two clean installs but i need to get it working on the original machine that i accidentally plugged in the grabber BEFORE i installed the driver.

What I'm getting at is, is there a way to remove the default drivers?

I've tried a few different apps but no joy.

OK I have it sorted now. I opened device manager> view hidden devices> I then uninstalled the hidden driver for the Grabber. I also ran certmgr.msc and removed the cert. After that i rebooted and installed the driver BEFORE I plugged in the grabber. Boom!

Thanks Lutfij.
