Well the 360's gpu is more advanced than the x1900 series and is able to do many things that it cannot. That said, your gaming rig will outperform the 360 easily when the DX10 games come out for it and should still look better on many of todays games. If it doesn't it's the game not your hardware. Crysis is the obvious example of what your machine will be able to do. The one thing I think the 360 can outperform a PC in is procedurally generated textures. That's it to my knowledge and such textures aren't that popular yet, though they are a staple of oblivion.
 
I don't think you can compare specs in the manner you are trying, across such different platforms. And you definitely cannot compare price - the xbox is designed to be cheap and to be mass produced, but the components in your pc are not. In fact, regarding price, what I just said is a gross understatement - you are paying almost 4x what you would need to beat out the xbox360 in performance.
 
To the OP.
The answer is simple, which platform has the games you want to play?
Get that one.
The prettier games will be on the PC, the PC, if enough is invested, can actually do the things (such as 1080p gaming) that the consoles claim to do.

Either way, don't go by performance. If we only went by performance the PS2 wouldn't still be selling. Hardware-wise the thing is a$$ but the solid titles produced are all that matters.

If you're only going to game.. get a console and save some cash, and keep the computer you already have for whatever else you might need.

I primarily PC game because the type of games I like to play are for one, generally only available on the PC, and two, I find the ones that are multiplatform play as well or better.

Again, it's all relative.

Arguments can be made for either console or pc, neither is going to "win." Ever. Besides the line is being blurred as "consoles" are essentially becoming more and more like pc's anyway. Only with the inconvenience of more proprietary software. Once you can fully web-surf, chat and email from a console, with a keyboard... is it really a console?

Companies and developers love consoles because they are harder to pirate and guarantee that when money is being spent, it's being spent on THEM. Like with licensing fees, for example.

Developers love PCs because although they are prone to piracy, there are no such fees, and a lot less design overhead (no dev kits, essentially). Try "indie" brewing a console game and publishing it to make actual money.

I, for one, prefer pc games still because I find more in the PC titles that I like than in the consoles. It's that simple. Not because I have an adverse hatred for consoles, but because the 10%, if that, of titles I find interesting are just not enough justification for my money imo.

I don't understand wtf your problem is, but consoles aren't bad at all. Anyway to the OP, your logic is way off. The gpu in the 360 is custom as you posted, not a X19XX core like a lot of people claim. It's not even similar, considering it has unified shaders and the X19XX series doesn't. People just assume they're similar because they see 48 and shaders and think its a X1900.

Also, you can't compare clock speed of processors of different architectures, it really doesn't match up. The system you built is a lot better than a 360 for sure, and does a lot more than the 360 does so the extra cost is expected. Allt he numbers they spit out about the consoles performance are pretty much marketing BS, I wouldn't listen to any of it.

Anyway I wouldn't worry about it, My PC sees far more use than my 360 for gaming, hell even my DS and ps2 do.

NOTE: I'm gonna say this only once, to all the confused PC/Console Spec people:

A computer game is designed to be most compatible with 100 different hardware, and thus, there is alot of overhead.

On a console, you have one set of hardware and game programmers can utilize it to the fullest, taking something like a Geforce 3, and running Doom 3 on it (where it took a 9800 or better to run on a PC).

The Xbox360 may not have the fastest anything, or DX10, but game code can be created much more efficiently, which leads to better looking, faster games, then the equiv for a PC.
