So, when can we expect 120 / 144 hz 4k monitors?

If I'm able to do well in classes, maintain my part time job, and remain healthy, I've decided that I would buy the GTX 1080 equivalent of the GTX Pascal series when it comes out. This seems kind of pointless, however, if I'm running the same ViewSonic 1920x1080 Resolution 60 Hertz monitor by that time.

Do we have any rumors or leaked information regarding the release date of higher resolution monitors with higher refresh rates?

Specifically if we'll see any more displays come out by the time NVIDIA Pascal launches?

As graphics cards become faster, games get more demanding. Games are getting more demanding faster than graphics cards get faster/stronger. SLI/CF will be used for a long time playing AAA titles at 4k, I doubt that will change. Manufacturers wants you to buy two cards, not one... There are a lot of shady things between companies, even rivals -- you'd be surprised.

AU Optronics among other companies, can create a high resolution 4k high refresh rate panel in a heartbeat, but no doubt are the big brands stopping them from doing so. I would much rather see an improvement in picture quality than our ugly popular LCD panels.
