everything that's suitable for AMD cpu's are
more expensive .. like original memory
motherboards with twice the price, compared to p3 mb.
more expensive 300w power-supply(with k7-power stamp) etc.
who cares if the cpu is less expensive, if you do not
benefit financially in total?

"Motherboards are twice the price", twice the price of what? a featureless end of the line BX. Try the same as 815.
Always get a good quality power supply.

Yes if you want the cheapest system then get a celeron with an intergrated BX board. Just dont try to play games over 600X480.

AMD socket A boards are quite competitive actually, the power supply is a non issue you should always have a good power supply exscpecially with todays gaphics cards. Try looking at www.pricewatch.com to find a good price. maybe you jsut don't have enough competition in your area for Retailors to give you decent pricing.
