Socket LGA775 or socket 775 ??

I am new to this forums.. Very Happy and would like to purchase a new motherboard , I found many Asus M/B with socket LGA 775 , what is LGA stand for? and what is the purpose of it ? is it make a lot different than just socket 775 ?
should I get the LGA socket or Just socket 775 . I tried to find information about this matter but couldn't find any.. thanks for any reply..

Socket 775 and LGA 775 are the same socket, for use by Intel processors. The LGA stands for "Land Grid Array," which describes the socket and the location of the pins. Traditional sockets are "Pin Grid Arrays," which means that the pins are located on the processor, while on LGA sockets, the pins are located on the motherboard, within the CPU socket.
