Is it possible to upgrade the Intel Core2 Quad Q9600 to an Intel Core i7-2620M that has a different socket?

Solution getochkn Feb 22, 2015 no. different sockets means different pin layout means they don't even fit and you'll probably destroy the cpu and the mb if you try.
