Software Autoupdaters

Hello. I have recently been notified that CNET will be shutting down it's CatchUP Service(CatchUP scans all your .exe's and other programs and tells you if you need an update/patch for it). I have been trying to find an alternate source or alternate program that will do basically what CatchUP did but I've been having trouble finding it. Can you please reccommend one? Thanks.

Well, I installed BigFix, but I can't find where in it that it scans your software and recommends the latest patches. Where is that at??

It's on the main page. "Download BigFix Client"

I did that.....I downloaded and installed the client but I can't find where it scans your software/programs to check for patches. Am I just completely missing it?

You are completely missing it. I just installed it right now so I can see how it works. After it was through, the main window was open. And, it scanned for updates right off the bat. Also, it runs in the system tray. If you need to check for updates again, opent he main window and click "Gather".

I've clicked gather plenty of times. It doesn't seem to scan anything on my computer. I'm not a complete idiot, I just don't think this is what I'm looking for....

If that's the case, then your system's updated. If it's like a clean install or something, then dang! You're good!!! :lol:
