Not sure, but i believe that most( if not all ) battery technology have some memory which limits how many times they can be recharged, having a solar panel can limit the lifspan of the batteries. But having a solar panel that have a miniusb plug could be an idea, if that dont excist someone should make it.

Yes it could. But, the light read off the monitor would be just fractions of a second behind the actual data on the screen. This would be unnoticable to the human eye, but over time, the lag could build upon itself until you suddenly find yourself back in the Seventies, trying to get your teen-aged dad to hook up with your slutty mom.

haha damn "bow head down and exits room"

This will make keyboard/bezel replacement of broken parts much more expensive, and potentially much more difficult. Also, if they do not use plastic/malleable cells, this could increase the delicateness of the computers in the 1st place.

I totally agree that the design needs work. At least the Logitech solar keyboard had the panels away from the keyboard itself, but the downside was fewer cells in total.

Another idea could be a detachable panel that connects behind the screen/top of the laptop. Make the attached cord long enough to place it closer to the light source while keeping the user in a comfortable spot. Less glare on the screen while providing more light for charging.
