Solid State Drive and Sata II

Hi folks,

I have an older motherboard, a Biostar A55MD2, that has 4xSata2 connectors and it says Sata Raid:0,1,10 (I have no idea how to use Raid or what it really is).

I would really like to buy a Solid State Drive but everything I am seeing is either Sata3 or Sata5.

The quick question is: Is it possible for my motherboard to use a Solid State Drive? If so, how would I connect it? How can I search (what terms) to find such a SSDrive?

I don't want a Solid State Hybrid. Those appear to be a waste of time.

You can use any SSD that matches your interface, which in your case is SATA II. SATA is a backward compatible interface. It will just operate at SATA II speeds instead of SATA III.
A SSD connects just like a HDD does. You might want to check BIOS after installing the drive to be sure that the SATA mode is set to AHCII for best performance if you have that option.
