Okay, first off sorry for two quick posts, bought the pc awhile back, decided to bust it out but need help fixing a few things..

So Ram, I check my mother board via "cmd" command;
"wmic baseboard get product,Manufacturer,version,serialnumber"
Oddly enough it 'only' gave me the product #
"x79-up4" so I looked up the user manual posted below, and put my ram into "Channel C"
Two sticks same type came in the same package "8GB ddr3" idr speed but they are the same, yet when i run "cpu-z" it states it as single and not dual channel? Yet it still says 16gb, task manager also records 16gb /w two slows out of 8 used...

Did I screw it up somehow or?

P.s. I know cord management is lacking and will be fixed, addressed in other post, previous owner was a moron.

Those sticks are not in the right place according to the manual. Check page 16 under Two Modules section.

Not going to lie, I'm no genius at this, all self taught, and Ram is very alien still to me, so I don't really understand the two modules section, is it saying to put them in "DDR3_2 & DDR3_1"
Would that be the correct placement?

I'm going to mark this as solved in the morning when I power up and double check, but before that one more question if I may..

I have two other ram sticks both DDR3 8GB higher clock speeds though (they are a package deal bought together and are the same) , if I installed them it would be the "Four modules" setup and the two new ones would go in "DDR3_4 and DDR3_3" correct? And the Bios should downclock them to my 1333's since they are above 2k?
Thanks in advance!!!!
