I bought a 240gb ssd, and I installed it on my HP laptop using a caddy to use as a secondary storage. the bios detects it and the OS detects it but if I tried to copy something to it, it starts copying then the pc freezes.
I tried formatting the drive but i cant seem to be able to and returns an error, i even downloaded multiple softwares to format it but still cant.
I plugged the device using an ssd case with sata to USB 3.0 and it works fine and i can format it. but using the caddy it does not function well.
what is causing that problem and how can i solve it?

Solution
So after updating my BIOS and updating intel rapid storage technology driver it worked and the ssd is functioning alright. I guess it was because of that issue. even though i still feel that the ssd is a little bit slow and its R/W speeds are not as I expected.
