I was using my computer all day and when i got back from taking a shower i found my computer on the "loading operating system" screen. I restarted my computer and now it seems my usb ports don't work and it cannot get past the loading operating system screen. I also noticed that the loading operating system text takes a little longer to pop up than it always has and there are no different sounding beeps, the ethernet light is also lighting up. My theory is that either the chipset has gone bad in my motherboard, or my SSD could have failed. Ive been trying to fix this for a while and i just cannot do it, any help is appreciated.

Motherboard: gigabyte GA-970a-D3
CPU: AMD fx 8350 black edition
PSU: Corsair 750 watt
RAM: Corsiar vengeance 2x8
SSD: OCZ agility 64 gb (not sure but definitely around 64gb)
GPU: gigabyte radeon 7950 3gb
OS: Windows 8.1 Professional

Solution
Well i finally fixed it, i removed all cables going to my hard drives, started my pc and then turned it off again then i re connected the cables and im all good now. Im still gonna get the new mobo though lol
something happened. it needed to repair itself and you didn't let it. if it comes up again, let the machine run........ over night if that's what it takes. otherwise do a reformat now and save time. you may end up needing to do it anyways............. go a rescue disc by any chance?

I wasnt in the room when all of this happened, the computer didnt have a repair disk screen it was simply the loading operating system screen that ive seen for years, and no i do not have a disk

That means you cannot use the keyboard right?
Do you have discrete GPU? If you have, try to remove it and plug the VGA connector into the motherboard.

BTW, if you are using USB 3 slots for your keyboard try to plug it in the USB 2 slots and check if it`s working.

My mobo doesnt have a vga port built in, ive already put another gpu in and the computer still didnt get past loading OS.
Putting my keyboard into 2.0 slot changes nothing

What do you mean by "my motherboard don`t have VGA port?" where do you plug in your monitor?

Remove the discrete GPU (or the external GPU).
What I mean by plugging in USB 2 is to check if the keyboard runs when your boot so that you can go into safe mode.

So, you can`t connect the Monitor in your Mobo right?
Your monitor is black because you did not connect it into Mobo or GPU so there will be no display available.

Do you have HDMI connector so that you can connect the monitor into your Mobo?
