Greetings, I just purchased 3 ASUS 23.6 inch LCD monitors. and a Gigabyte R9 270x GPU

with the latest drivers from the internet, I can only get 2 displays to function at once.

The card has:
2 DVI
1 HDMI
1 Display Port - thingie

The box for the GPU cleary dipicts the card as having the ability to run 4 displays at once.

I am currently, with no luck, trying to run the 3 displays off of the 2 DVI and 1 HDMI port on the card.

the configurations I have tried are as follows.

1) (Preferred)
-1 DVI
-1 DVI
-1 HDMI

2) have tried
1-DVI (to VGA)
1-DVI
1-HDMI

2) also tried and failed with
1 DVI
1 DVI
1 HDMI (to DVI)

The box shows it being able to run 4 monitors. there are 4 ports on the back. one would think I could use 3 to run 3 monitors. your wisdom would fix my XMAS.

the specific order models are as follows.

Gigabyte R9 270X GDDR5-2GB 2xDVI/HDMI/DP OC Graphics Card (GV-R927XOC-2GD)

3x "Asus VS247H-P 23.6-Inch Full-HD LED-Lit LCD Monitor"

FOUND OUT THE SOLUTION!
I can't find the article, but he talked about not being able to hotswap the monitors. SO. the solution in order to allow the card to do eyefinity OR triple monitor display config is...

turn the monitors off, reboot your computer. when the computer comes back on, Catalyst control center will let you turn all three monitors on.

I currently have it setup as:
1 DVI
1 DVI
1 HDMI (to DVI via adapter)

and its working great!!!

if just turning off the monitors and rebooting doesn't work, then shut down, disconect the monitors, restart, then plug them in.

I'm so happy about this! hope this helps out!

i know this is an old thread but i am currently going through what you did... I am using 2 DVI and 1 HDMI all different monitors... any way you can give me a detailed way of doing this or even sending me the link you found?

Hi. I'm having the exact same issue and your solution is unfortunately not working for me. I have 2 of the 270x's running crossfire, but my 3rd monitor refuses to display anything. When I try and activate it in windows, it gives me an error message "unable to save display settings".

EDIT- Just read the outside of the box and it states in tiny writing that a display port adapter (active?) needs to be used... So does that mean AMD falsely advertised them?

I did this without the display port. just turn all the monitors off, restart the computer and turn them on back on once windows has fully booted up.

. but the "SAVE" thing would make me think its a driver issue. but I'm not an expert. try updating the drivers, or re-installing them.

also, try running the computer one GPU first, then when it works, reinstall the second one.

-and Batmanbob. not sure what happened, but I tried to reply to you 2 weeks ago. but seems like it didn't post.

1) I couldn't find the link. and it was just a passing phrase in the article that
-- actually. look at my second post on here, it describes exactly what i did and recommend.

The machine restarts didn't do anything for me. After trying tons of video connection combinations and various orders of plugging things in I finally found a hint on AMD's website which claims 1920x1080 is supported for multiple monitors on a single displayport only at 24 bit color depth.

I turned the color depth down on the two monitors that were actually displaying something to 16 bit color, then plugged in the third screen and finally they were all working! Once everything was displaying I then moved each display back up to 32 bit color and nothing conked out on me. No idea if this is something that will help anyone else but worth a shot. There's no reason why 32 bit on all three shouldn't be supported but for whatever the reason this finally fixed it for me.

how do you turn off all monitors, i cant turn off the last one ? and chris, what if your pc only can run 1280 x 1024 ? i have a Hdmi / DVI / VGA, the last screen just wont turn on, I have been searching for answers for weeks with no luck , plz help me
