(solved) GPU is reaching 103c and then PC turns itself off ?

Some time last week while playing games, my computer will heat up to 99-103c and then turn off, I am unsure what has changed and why this is happening, the only thing I've done recently is install 2 steam games

I've tried

• resetting the bios
• removing dust from the entire pc
• elevated it off the carpet
• applying new thermal paste to the GPU
• having my fans always run at 100%
• underclocking the GPU
• lowering the maximum processor state to 80% from 100% in power options
• lowering the settings of the games I play

I am unsure of what to do and would appreciate help

something else to note: when my GPU would overheat before, the ENTIRE PC would be hot, now it's just the heatsinks & GPU itself

the GPU fan was spinning super slow evidentally, I replaced the fan and the issue is resolv

All three of my fans are spinning correctly

What GPU do you have?

Are you sure you don't have a bad mount on the cooler?
also, make sure you have ample airflow around the GPU.
