[Solved] GTX 460 no display

I recently got a second hand Emtek GTX 460 to upgrade from my current GT 220.

Visually seems to be in good shape, except for one caveat, it seems as if someone 'unsoldered' one pcie power input, the seller says that the card already runs only on one pcie. So far there hasn't been any display at all. The seller promised that before he sold it, it worked on his machine.

Once booted up, the system automatically defaults to integrated graphics. BIOS is automatically set to default the video card once it detects one (no settings to change that), and I've just recently updated the BIOS cause you know, it could be compatibility issues.

The card is connected to a PCIe x16 Gen 2 slot with one PCIe 6pin power adaptor.

System specs:
- Motherboard: ECS H61H2-M2
- 450W power supply
- 500GB HDD
- Intel Pentium G630 @ 2.7Ghz
- 6GB Kingston 1066-DDR3 RAM

Other things I've tried:
- Used an ancient 600W power supply to power motherboard and SATA connectors while leaving the 450W to power the graphics card only (shorted the green pin)
- Uninstalled display drivers.

Hoping anyone out there could help, been on countless forums, threads and articles online, all as to no avail. Any possible help, suggestions or solutions will really be appreciated!

P.S. Yeah I changed the thermal paste and cleaned it as well. And the GT 220 works just fine.

SOLUTION:
So after about 3 days of troubleshooting, I've come to the conclusion that the MOTHERBOARD is the culprit, I had the card checked at a local PC store and they deemed it working fine.
So I basically upgraded my entire system as well, bought a new motherboard, CPU and added RAM since I was pretty much due for an upgrade anyway. The board, although updated, looks like had some compatibility issues, not so common but it could happen in cases such as mine.

I hope this helped anyone who has the same issue as I have.

So you are basing the fact that this card works off some random stranger that you will probably never see again's "promise"? I think that's the main issue here. If you never saw the card running and working before you bought it, and there is damage to the card, you probably got scammed.

Thanks for the quick reply, I pretty much knew what I was getting into was quite the risk, especially the low price point of around $45 (but yeah that's living in a developing country for you). It probably wasn't wise to let my guard down and hope that I would score some bit of luck in securing something like that for such a low price.

Considering all the factors, is there by any chance a way to get it working, possibly anything I may have overlooked despite the how many times that I've tried reseating, rebooting, reconnecting etc? And what would probably be your personal recommendation. Thanks dude.

Hello... I advice , before buying used, that the seller post you his picture of the WEI report screen as to proof of operation... before purchase.
Sometimes a GPU re-flash will wake it up... But if the MB cannot read the card, it won't work.

But it seems you current tests were enough to determine a "Bad" booting video card... a video card will warn you if it's not Powered correctly, either beep or video display.

Thanks for the tip. I'll keep that in mind, especially the WEI report. Regarding the re-flash, I don't think it would be possible due to it being from a not-so-known Korean vendor. (or will it still work using a different BIOS? sorry not sure).

Tomorrow I'm going to try and go to the seller's place (we met up and he typed in the address of his shop). If worse comes to worse. I'll try to solder two molex to the 'blank' PCIe pins manually in hopes to get it to 'magically' boot. Is there any possibility that it would work this way?

Hello... At this point if you can Just the card back to the seller's, and re-test the card there, before attempting anything else.

Typically the BIO's will be on a sticker on the back of the card, same as model#'s.... for proper BIO's ID, also this can be got from the GPU-Z app screen. The BIO's needs to be spot on, for the Hardware equipt card. That WEB site has a "typically" Brand/model list for all my needs, What type of card Brand/model are we dealing with here?

Thanks for all of your replies! As it turns out it was my board with a problem.
Bought a new motherboard, CPU, RAM and HDD already, basically bought a new PC. The graphics card works just fine on the new board and a board of my friend. Thanks for the help everyone!

So yeah, the motherboard was probably old despite the BIOS update.
