[SOLVED] HDD sounds like a modem when starting an app

took me forever to chase this sound down. For some reason, I notice that one of the HDD is making a "modem" sound when starting apps.

Ring any bells?

That's sound of the head chasing bits and bytes all over the disk. Check it's health and defrag it good.

Hello xra7en, if you have a Seagate drive, use Seatools to test the health of the drive. Do you have any other symptoms affecting your computer because of this?

Hi, took me a min to see how this "forum" works, I took Grandmasters advice and that seem to solve the issue. And yes, I think that one is a seagate 2tb. Both 2TB drives checked ok, and both were about 9% fragged. One that was done, I did not hear it happen again.
