Do you have write protection enabled on the usb ? I think that you may be confused since you cannot enable bit locker on a usb stick and it can only be enabled on a hard drive the has two partitions and one of the partitions has to have the OS on it and the other partition has to be 100 mb in size. The usb stick can contain the 128 bit encryption key to unlock the bit locked drive and the only operating system that contains the bit locker encryption is Windows Ultimate or Windows Enrterprise. There is no back door , you either have the password or the encryption key.
That's why I think the usb stick is write protected and does not have bit locker encryption.

Either way you need a password and acording to the OP's post he's saying a recovery key was not found on the usb device and naturaly it would't be on the device because it's password protected and to access it you need the password.

Is that the only reason you posted here to critique my post and try to prove me wrong ?

Didn't need to try. You quite frequently post without doing due diligence, just happens that this time it was so blatantly wrong that it required correction.

To the OP, are you running at least Windows 7 Ultimate? Anything lower (Pro, Home Premium, etc.) do not support Bitlocker.
