[Solved] Lost my start button icon please help me

Hi,

My Start button frequently disappears. It seems to randomly occur when I boot up the computer or sometimes after the computer screen "wakes up" from being in a hibernating state. When the Start button disappears, I notice that everything else that appears on the screen is "stretched" along the screen's width.

When this weirdness occurs, I just step away from the computer and let the screen return to sleep/hiberbate. When I wake it up, the Start button returns and the stretch effect goes away.

Does anyone have an explanation why this happens?

Is there anything I can do to prevent it from happening?

It's annoying but at least I know that the problem is self-correcting.

Sleep/standby/hibernation mode has been flaky since its inception. Don't use it. Look in power options and shut down your monitor & Hard drive.

I just changed both the monitor and hard drive to "never" shutdown. Thank you.
