Question [SOLVED] Monitor receives no signal from GPU

My brother had:
  • Processor (CPU): AMD Ryzen 5 5500
  • Graphics Card (GPU): Evga GeForce GTX 1650
  • Motherboard: Asus Prime B40M-A
  • RAM: 16GB DDR4
  • Power Supply (PSU): Evga 500W
Several days ago he tried powering on and got no signal on the monitor. We first tried CMOS and RAM stuff, but then our cousin lent us his GPU for a moment (I don't remember the model) and it worked. We figured the GPU must be dead. So my brother got a Radeon RX 7600 XT. Last night we put that in, but we only got it to work without any peripherals connected. It did boot into Windows though with a signal to the monitor, so that made me optimistic. My brother pointed out that the GPU box recommended a 600W PSU, so he got a new PSU, a Thermaltake SMART 700W. But now we're trying with the new PSU, and with the old one, but nothing works. Not even what seemed to work yesterday.

What could be the issue?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

We figured it out! It was the cable connected the computer to the monitor. I feel like we initially tried with different cables, but who knows now. We tried with a different cable and all is well. My brother is happy about the new GPU though and says he'll keep it.
