[SOLVED] -SOLVED- Moving old HDD with windows 7 (pre installed) into a new build with new OS & M.2

I am creating my first build and am wanting to use my old 1Tb HDD on my build for media / documents storage. Have seen a few threads with this question however the HDD is running Windows 7, pre installed from the retailer, and I am wanting to use the new OS (W10) on the M.2 drive on my new build. I am getting a standalone copy of Windows 10 to install on the M.2 drive but am worried that I may run into issues hooking up a HDD with a different OS once I have got the new system up and running.

Would my best option be to uninstall windows 7 on my existing HDD prior to moving it over and wait til I have my system running with the new OS on the new M.2 drive?
