Why can't you use the ISP provided ethernet connection?so far i was only able to find a wifi 6 router on amazon but id rather get a 6e or 7 seems very difficult to find a router with this connection
GPON can be tricky. The exact wavelength of light used for the two directions can vary by ISP. It is also possible the ISP won't support alternate hardware connected to their fiber. If it were me, I would ask for a modem only or a router that can be set to bridge mode. Then you have standard copper ethernet and any router will work.id assume its gpon with a single sc as the connector looks like this![]()
they gave me a modem is the tenda rx27 pro any good tomshardware said its good in theyre review and its on a big saleGPON can be tricky. no the tenda isnt the modem thats just the router im asking aboutThat is not a modem that is just a router that has all copper ports. There must be another box you plug the router into that has the fiber port.
In any case it is a "ok" device. I was extremely surprised tenda was selling wifi6e devices espeically because they are about the same price as other low end wifi6 and wifi5 routers. Maybe be wifi7 is coming soon and they let the low end vendor have some of the wifi6e chips.
It support 2x2 mimo on 160mhz wide channels on the 6g radio. This is what most end devices that support wifi6e do so having say 3x3 or 4x4 mimo doesn't matter if the end device also does not support.
The only real downside to tenda stuff is they do not patch their software much. Since wifi6e has now been out for quite a while there are not as many bugs anyway.
That is not what the title asks about. That router wouldn't fit your title requirements ...no the tenda isnt the modem thats just the router im asking about
