Hi I recently moved my modem/router from the location it was for 5+ years. It was basically buried in the basement. A couple days ago I moved the modem to a more central location, and everything was working great. Until I had to make some calls on my land line. Today while making some calls I realized that there is now TERRIBLE static whenever I'm on the phone. I have DSL internet, and I DO have a filter. What are my options?

My filter has one end that plugs in to the phone jack, and then on the other side of it there is a slot for DSL and a slot that says phone line. In the previous location, I had the modem plugged in to the filter, as well as a phone line. Now in the new location, there isn't a phone line I need to plug in to the filter, so the phone jack side is left empty. Could this be causing problems?

Problem solved.. one of my phones was plugged into a power strip with phone jacks on it. It had a filter on it, but I tried a different one and that worked. Strange fix, maybe it was just a broken filter.
