I hadn't expected to come up with more than a dozen or so of these threads by election time, but I am up to 10 now and the year is still young.

Sadly, that's only covering one of the many failed solar companies. One in Perrysburg, Ohio, had 40 employees, promised to hire up to 80 immediately, and up to 500 within 2 years with full production.
2 years after getting the money, they're down to a dozen employees, not producing anything, and asking for more money.

That is First Solar, a company that has been in operation for more than 10 years. Even though it recently snagged a $4 billion loan guarantee from the DoEng,

it is not really a blatant example of crony capitalism.

On the other hand, we, the taxpayers are on the hook for a $4 billion loan.

No no, not First Solar. They're doing good. I used to live next to their plant.

Xunlight and another one.. they're failing miserably.
