Hello ,so i have an i5 3570, the cpu is around 5 years old aswell and i have a few questions hopefully someone will answer them 😀.
  1. So my idle cpu temps are 38-40c after re applying thermal paste and i used prime95 to stress test it and the max temps are at 80-84c after 10 minutes of stress testing , also while playing games it stays at around 60-70c and i was wondering if these temps are fine? i was getting the same temps before the new thermal paste also i have a stock cooler.
  2. When i boot up the pc a red light appears and stays on for 1 second then shuts down , is this normal?
3)In the Bios settings i had the AI tweaker set to manual , i have never setted these settings to manual or had any OC program , also the clocks were set to 40 i don't know what that means but i assume the turbo booster was set to max 4.0ghz? anyways i put everything to auto , what does auto and manual actually mean and was my cpu overclocked?

Welcome to the forums my friend!

Perfectly fine.

For Intel, as long as you keep temperatures under 85 degrees you're fine, 80 degrees ideally. If it's only just hitting 85 degrees under a Prime95 test, then you're all good. Also remember the changing of the thermal paste won't really make much of a difference, just as long as the application of the thermal paste has been sufficient.

Can you elaborate on this a bit more? How long has it been occurring, what exactly happens?

In the meantime, what is your full system spec including PSU make and model?

Depends on how you've configured everything else, usually auto on everything will just keep it on stock, but if you want to be safe, just reset the CMOS or reset the BIOS to default values and it will revert to stock settings and remove any potential OC.

If you have a 3570, I have one, well had one, in fact I still have it I just don't use it anymore :) , then you shouldn'tworry about overclocking options, only "K" CPU can be overclocked (for example 3570K).

As for temps, as PC Tailor wrote, they look more than fine, I used to get around 78° C on heavy games like SOTR or BFV (should have changed my original thermal paste).

It seems you have an ASUS motherboard, so your right, you should just let everything on Auto.

Your CPU (https://ark.intel.com/content/www/e...5-3570-processor-6m-cache-up-to-3-80-ghz.html) can only boost up to 3.800MHz, you can check this while gaming using some app like hwinfo portable - "only sensors" option (https://www.hwinfo.com/download/) there you will see 4 columns, Current, Min, Max and AVG, and you can scroll down till you find your CPU frecuency, temps, etc. (it has lots of info) after playing a game for like 10 to 15 mins (hwinfo has a clear max/min button that you should click to get more accurate readings when starting to play a game, or doing benchmarks like prime95 or Cinebench).

About the red led yeah, we need more info please.

Well i'm not sure what happened , all i get is a red light at startup then it shuts down and everything is ok , also sometimes on first boot of the day my pc stays on for 2-3 seconds then restarts by itself and again everything seems fine , no overheating no anything.
As for PSU it's a mastercooler 600w don't know any more info about it , the gpu is gt 1030 LP ddr5 from gigabyte , hdd WDC WD10EZRX-00L4HB0 , 8 gigs of ram kingston hyper x , and the motherboard is ASUS P8Z77-V LX
