I have one of those USB-C hubs with HDMI output typically used on laptops to attach one more monitor. The question is: can I use it with my desktop? For reference, my desktop has an ASUS Prime X570-P motherboard, with USB 3.2 but no USB-C ports.
I have seen there are some USB hubs that are plugged to a USB-A host and have USB-C ports, for example this one, but I suspect that the USB-C port in these can only carry data, no HDMI (unless you put a display controller inbetween). So would this work?
If it doesn't, my second option is buying an internal PCIe card with USB-C ports, something like this. But even in this case I don't know if it would work...
