Alright so I've been trying to install Java for a while now and all i can do is install old versions of java 7 i cant install any newer ones. It will download the installer but when i click run it does not do anything and i just wanna know if there is anything i can do to fix it. Thanks.

It will help. Java relies only on the operating system, not the hardware. So if you're starting with a fresh slate with no issues, it should have no reason to fail out.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help. But let us know how it goes and don't forget to hit best answer!
Newer versions of Java (along with older ones), have what are called prerequisites. They are files/programs that already need to be installed before you can install a newer Java version. If you check out java.com and the version you're trying to download, they list the requirements needed. Make sure your system has those and then you should be able to install it fine.

As far as i can tell i meet all requirements of the latest java so that does not help me.

Nothing at all. And yes I've tried running as admin multiple times still nothing.

The only other thing I can think of is you're downloading a version of Java for a browser you don't have. They have versions of Java for various browsers and I have seen this happen before when people click the link for the wrong download.

But if you're sure you have the right download, my only other thought is you must be missing something important. You have Windows 7 SP1 installed, yes?

Yea.

Nope no viruses but i have noticed my computer tends to crash occasionally when i tried to boot in safe mode a few moments ago it crashed for the first time in a month.

And also i have tried multiple other installations and i discovered java 7 works fine but java 8 is not working.

I tried that before but im not 100% sure it deleted all of it if you could give me instructions or a link to some that would be nice.

Didn't work still no effect when i click run

I hate to say it, but unless someone else can come up with a better answer, the only options left are to live with what you have or reformat and start over if you insist on having a newer version. Something is apparently wrong with your operating system/java install, and it's not proceeding. So unless someone has something better, I would go a more drastic route.

Honestly that would not surprise me to much i had suspicions of it anyway so i guess ill just reinstall the operating system and see if it helps with the issue.
