*KEY* first score is when you start game and levels range from 1-10 and after is after patches and mid to high level content.

World of Warcraft- so I played this game since launch. Had a nice 70 night elf rogue and a couple of 40 toons. Overall this is a great beginner's mmo. No rez penalties except instant rez which does armor damage and lowers ur stats for 15 mins. This is a very solo friendly game in which you can solo all the way from 1-70. Mobs are reused way to much even in the expansion also the buildings too, I mean come on can't you make a new inn for shattrah? Raids like MC became a huge grind after a while and just became obsolete after BC expansion. Now you wonder 7+ million players must make it a great game? Well it is a great beginning mmo and a lot of people play it because n00b gamers can get into the genre without having to buy new graphics or anything. I ran WoW on half max from a stock sony vaio from 1999. This game doesn't reinvent any of the mmo mechanics and is pretty much a copy of every mmo except the with a warcraft theme and no death penalty and also it is quite easy to make money. Pvp was fun, but got old after a while and the graphics were very weak and if it wasn't for the art style then it would be horrid. When you first start (score 9.5) After a year or 2 (score 6.5)

Lineage 2- The master of all pvp mmo combat. Huge epic 100 VS 100 battles. Only problem the huge grind to get to the high levels to get to the fun pvp. I never got so mad at an mmo before...I would grind and quest for hours and hours to go from 10% into lvl 41 to 95% and was close to leveling and then some high level guy auto pvped me and kileld me thus making my xp go back to 5% in less then one minute, but to get back to 95% it takes 3+ hours. Sure the guards attack the pvper, but he is to strong and just kills them no problem. He then camped my body and I went from lvl 41 down to 37 and lost just about all my gold and gear because they can drop when you die. The cool part is you can have your own castle and flying dragon like mount and also the items don't require levels, but just make you slow. So in others you can get a level one char and give him end game gear and he will just run slow. Graphics were nice at the time of release, but is showing it's age. Major plus is the pvp and free expansions. When you start (score 6.8) After (score 5.4) and if you manage endgame and pvp (score 8.6)

Archlord- Lineage 2 copy cat that is free....what more is there to say? Cool thing is for one week you can become the "archlord" and be god until your week ends or someone takes your spot. Start (score 6.0) After (score 3.2) if you get archlord (score 7.8)

Vanguard- GIANT MMO!!! 20+ gigs!!!! Graphics are very very nice if you have a system that can handle it. Death penalty is quite harsh for modern day mmo's, but does have some relief like major xp debt instead of corpse runs. Cities are nice and community is very very nice and helpful. It takes about 60+ days of playing 24/7 to reach max level. WAS insanely buggy, but was patched a lot so performance has been increased and the majority of the bugs have been fixed. This game will take a long time to get to the endgame goodies. If you want a challenge in your mmos and have a nice machine then this game is for you. Beware though that there aren't many players due to the system requirements, but the ones that do play are usually dedicated players that help out the "n00bs". Before patch (score 4.3) After patch (score 8.0)

Everquest 2- WoW/Vanguard...Great graphics with great a amount of mmo flavor. Everquest 2 is a a casual mmo, but a more mature version of WoW. Graphics are insanely nice even though it was released about 3 years ago. Great community, nice player housing, VOICE DIALOUGE QUESTS!!!! Unique mobs with every kind of setting you could imagine, lava, snow, forest, desert, you name it!! So far 3 expansions have been released which has added content mainly for higher level players except the somewhat new faywader expansion which includes the previous expansions plus everquest 2 which adds a ton of low level things and a very rare thing in everquest games...a new pixie like race! Endgame stuff is nice because the big bosses have nice dialogues and you can feel really epic at low levels and high levels. For example you can get fabled items at level 10 aka epic items. Crafting is realtime and feels epic because you have to pay attention at all times to fix dents and etc. Start (8.6) After with the patches (9.6)

Lord of the Rings Online- *BETA/Week of official* This is pretty much World of Warcraft with lord of the rings theme. PVP doesn't kick in for a while besides dueling eachother. Graphics are quite nice it is on par with guild wars. The races are pretty LOTR generic and you can't be female in all the races. What is cool are the titles you can earn for things like eating pie and you can get capes at an early level. MUSIC IS VERY VERY VERY VERY NICE!!! Music changes up so you don't really get bored of one song over and over. Was really fun going to the shire and seeing the cool secnes from the movies and books. Combat is fast pace like DDO and you can have chain group attacks. Mounts are generic horses and kind of goofy animation. If you think WoW is to kidlike, but still want a casual mmo this game is for you. Start (score 8.0) After (8.4)

Everquest- Tons of expansions!! Graphics are dated and only the hardcore guys are usually here because they put soooo much time into there characters. Big world with some nice monsters. Defined the 3d gaming mmo and roleplaying setting for future games. You can see everquest in pretty much in mmo. No the combat and endgame things all look like junk, but where godlike back in the day. Launch of everquest (score 8.1) Present day (8.4) Start (7.0) After (8.6)

Everquest online adventures (PS2)- Pretty much Everuqest 2 and Everquest combined into a playstation 2 online mmo. Start (7.6) After (8.7)

Just some quick scores on my opinion:
DDO-Start (7.9) After (7.8)
Planetside- Start (9.0) After (4.9)
Guild Wars 1- Start (8.6) After (8.6)
Guild Wars 2- Start (8.0) After (8.2)
Guild Wars 3- Start (8.7) After (9.0)

Tell me your thoughts about this review. Thanks for reading my reviews!!

The first two talk of pvp and then it stops (I play mmo's to pvp so have a few comments). So I thought I'd comment on the next couple..

Vanguard pvp is THE worst pvp mmo going. The class imbalance is shocking. If you are not a healer or caster forget even bothering. The plat duping bug which went a month unchecked has destroyed the economy on the pvp server and the server population. If you really want to play Vangrind go blue.

EQ2 pvp is very good. There is strategy involved and it is more like hunting than WoW battlefield gank fest. But there are still some classes that are "flavour of the month". Group pvp is the norm but that really makes all classes useful to a group.

Something that everybody seems to forget is that you just need to look back at history and you will so that it has all been done before. Look at EverQuest, it is still going strong with the same game play from the past. Does anybody think that it really matters.
