Question Some of my games use my gaming laptop's integrated gpu instead of the dedicated gpu ?

Hello, I hope someone can help me fix my issue.
I did everything including setting my game's GPU preference to my Dgpu in windows graphics settings and nvidia control panel. But for some reason, a game like valorant still uses my Igpu instead of my Dgpu, though it's kind of like they're working together but it just uses my Igpu more. I know I'm getting a decent game fps, but I used to have better fps in other games. I have tried doing a clean installation of my DGPU and IGPU drivers and I also tried using DDU but it didn't solve my problem.

My laptop is ASUS TUF Gaming F15, and it doesn't have a MUX switch. How do I fix this?

This issue only happens to me when I use Windows 10 on my laptop. I don't know why, but when I use Windows 11, the problem gets fixed, but I really need to use Windows 10 right now.

What is it with Win11 that you can't do whatever it is on 10? Everything should work identically.

My Laptop Specs:
CPU: i5 11400H
GPU: RTX 3050 Ti
That's what I've been thinking also, there shouldn't be a difference right? When I play a game like Apex Legends or other games like Valorant on Windows 11, the iGPU is rarely used, in most cases it stays at 0%, that's where I'm confused, I've reinstalled win 11 and 10 a lot of times and only windows 10 has the iGPU usage problem on my laptop.

Try resetting all your power profiles.
To do this, simply enter these codes into powershell, then press enter. :

Ultimate Performance: powercfg -duplicatescheme e9a42b02-d5df-448d-aa00-03f14749eb61
High Performance: powercfg -duplicatescheme 8c5e7fda-e8bf-4a96-9a85-a6e23a8c635c Balanced: powercfg -duplicatescheme 381b4222-f694-41f0-9685-ff5bb260df2e
Power saver: powercfg -duplicatescheme a1841308-3541-4fab-bc81-f71556f20b4a

Test again.

Set up Throttlestop on your system. Open it, and run the TS Bench, and open up the limits box.

This will show you if there's any throttling going on.

I have entered the codes you said in powershell but the problem is still there. I've been using throttlestop for undervolting since I bought my laptop and have been monitoring my cpu/gpu temps using msi afterburner and throttlestop, there's no throttling in both cpu and gpu.

You could try disabling Nvidia Optimus. It tries to switch between discrete gpu and integrated graphics to save power but it isn't great at it. Should be able to find the toggle for it in Geforce Experience, I think its called "Hybrid Mode" but the name changes between laptop brands.

It can also be disabled in BIOS on most laptops.

Could it maybe be an option to disable the iGPU entirely in device manager?
Laptop should normally work fine without the iGPU since it can use the other GPU

Hello, thank you for responding to my thread. Unfortunately, my asus tuf gaming f15 2021 model doesn't have a MUX switch, therefore I cannot just disable my Igpu and use my dgpu only. I guess my only solution for now is to use a display port cable and connect an external monitor, I've read that it can bypass the igpu and directly connect the display to my dgpu.
