I just bought a wireless card for my pc as I have enough with my USB dongle. The maximum speed for the USB is 45 to 50 mb/s on the 2.4ghz(Not Bytes) while this new wireless card have improved my speed to around 200-300 mb/s on the 5ghz. However I still very confused as to why this wireless card still can't get the speed it should since my router ranged from 500-867 mbps for the wired connection. Is there any possible reason why it's not getting that kind of speed?
By the way,the pc is only about 5 or 6 metres away from the router

I have downloaded the latest driver for the PCE-AC68 from the Asus website

OS:Windows 10
Mobo:Z170 Msi gaming m5
Power supply:Corsair 750RMI
Wifi card:Asus PCE-AC68

My first take is math (maybe your confusing bits and bytes) the product page for Asus PCE-AC68

https://www.asus.com/us/Networking/PCEAC68/

" 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. At 600Mbit/s and 1.3Gbit/s respectively..."

600Mbit/s is 75mb/s and 1.3Gbit/s is 162.5mb/s, and being dual band, your speed of 200-300 seems in spec.

My router can transmit 867 mbit/s. Why can't i even reach the 400 mbit/s mark even when I used the 5 ghz
