I recently decided to upgrade my computer by adding in more ram. I currently have 8gbs of ram (which isn't too bad, but for me in the following years i may need more) I used a software once (forgot the name) that scans your computer and tells you all about it. It said my motherboard can store up to 16gbs or ram, but my question is would it affect my motherboard if I filled up its ram capacity? Like could it harm my motherboard if i installed 16gbs (as thats the limit)? Should I settle on 12 if thats the case?
Also: Right now i have 8gb of ram. 4 sticks of 2gb ram sticks (4x2) would it be bad if i replaced two of those sticks with 4gb ram sticks? (like have 2 sticks with 2gb of ram each, and have 2 sticks with 4gb ram each) or should i replace it all with 4 sticks with 3gbs (or 4) or ram each?
Thanks for the response and I hope i didn't words this too weird.
