Some temp questions

just wondering guys im using everest Ultimate for my temps they seem spot on with the bios readings, away ways on with my question...
So it shows each core temp such as core 0 and core 1, as well as CPU temp. My question is what should i look at as far as temps on the CPU? i assume the CPU temp but the core temp and CPU temp there is about a 9deg c diff between the two of them. And what temp is MCP?

Temps (E6600 @ 3.28)
MCP: 52
Core 1: 48
Core 2: 50
CPU: 60
Mobo: 41

MCP = Media and Communication Processor. MCP = Southbridge.
Mobo temp = Northbridge temp

IMO, your CPU temp are high comparing the cores temp. my Q6600(i don't know if i can compare with your E6600) has idle CPU temp: 40°C but cores temp: 51/54/50/48°C.

Cool that what i was kind of thinking as far as what the MCP was. I think the temps are fine i'm just trying to keep it below 61c, i did some more tweaking and got it down 2deg with a vcore voltage and fsb voltage drop.

der_meister, if you read my Guide, then you know your temps are inverted, and are invalid. The E6600 Core temps should always be ~15c higher than the CPU temp, whether at Idle or Load. Take another read through the Guide, and work through Section 9 to calibrate your temps so they're accurate.
