some times when i click a link on chrome a random website i didnt go comes up, any way i can stop this from happening

I always install Adblock Plus and never get this kind of thing. You could possibly have picked up some malware somewhere, so to be sure you could download Malwarebytes and do a scan with it. It's free and works well. The scan usually takes less than 20 min.

my overly protective browser add ons let me get there so it can't be too bad. you probably just have adware

I used to run ad block plus until they started letting people buy the right to not have ads blocked. That defeats entire purpose of software so I swapped to Ublock origin.
