I have this issue where around half of the video files on my PC won't open with any video player. When I open them up with VLC it gives me a crash error and with the Windows 10 default player it tries to open it for a few seconds until it crashes. I've transferred the same files onto a harddrive and then tried to open them up on another PC, which worked, so this leads me to believe this is an issue with my Windows 10.
I've updated my graphics card drivers, restarted my PC countless times. Enabled and disabled Windows Media player in various ways, uninstalled and reinstalled VLC and reset the preferences and tried tons of other methods I found on guides online but nothing has worked. It seems to such an odd issue as some files work fine, while others give me a crash error, but when I click X on the text box the file works, and other files won't open at all. Any tips?
