Some weird display problem with my PC

Hi,

i have a R9 285 on a ASUS mx5a99fx mobo.

The problem is my display goes off randomly.. I'm not sure whether my pc has crashed in the background or not.
Sometimes the sound keeps on playing, but none of the multimedia keys or shortcuts work. but when it started, nothing worked (no sound) except a forced restart.

Now it doesn't start up even after a forced reset. It magically works sometimes, getting rarer with time.

So what do you think is the issue, is it the board or card?

* There are usually no motherboard beeps.. but once i got the message of overclock failure, so reset the clock and also got video card error, only once. Nothing since...
* I tried switching PCIe slot, didn't help (i have 4)
* the card's fan etc keep spinning, no change/sounds or weird behavior inside the cabinet
* the display says no input
* the time for the PC to shut down after i press the power key is about 6-7 seconds (which is the usual shutdown time)
* sometimes the power key doesnt work, and sometimes the PC turns back on ASAP
* I recently got the mobo back from RMA due to the ram slot not working.

I'll add more points if i remember, but my troubleshooting has left me confused

You said in the edit that it was working, if it's not and you got a replacement motherboard, that may be it, or it may be the video card or PSU. Test the card in another system, maybe try another PSU in yours, or contact the motherboard vendor and see what they say.

Really sorry, about the late reply,
The PC is still not working, the PSU is a Corsair VS 550 (550W).

All the fans LEDs are working even with no display signal
Might be the PSU, but I did hear a sound coming from the cabinet once, sounded like the Hard Disk, but my primary drive is an SSD (disconnecting other conventional drives has no effect on boot).

I get the splash screen - windows loading - Black screen, it looks like corrupted OS at this point of time, but the initial symptoms say otherwise

I'll update if i find anything more. The motherboard beeps are still silent except a single beep at power on.

EDIT: I have reset all overclocks, then set everything to default in BIOS which seems to be working fine now

Really? I thought my pc can hardly push that limit, but it was working well for over a year. So lack of power hasn't affected me much I guess, but I wouldn't know for sure.

I got the stupid motherboard back from RMA, they fixed the ram slot. I fear that's the culprit gone rogue again.

Do you have any suggestions or test that I can try to narrow down the issue?

I meant the BIOS, it wasn't working earlier.. Thanks for the help though.. I think i'll have to send more than 1 part for replacement
