Hello, recently i upgraded my pc. I upgraded the CPU from a Phenom II x4 965 to a FX 6300. Also i upgraded my GPU from a GTX 750 to a GTX 1050 Ti. The thing is that now my game has several frame drops from like 120fps to 20fps. I must say, my CPU has a broken pin which i investigated and shouldnt be the issue. Is my HDD causing this? Is the missing pin causing this? Are my old Graphics drivers causing this? Pls help

Solution

It could be the old drivers or the bent pin. I would say it's the CPU though, FX CPU's are legendarily terribly slow, even when comparing a 5ghz 8 core FX to a stock quad core Non-FX the quad core will win in gaming and most multi-threaded workloads.

I would boot into safe mode and use DDU to uninstall all the...

I would boot into safe mode and use DDU to uninstall all the drivers then reinstall them. Also try pulling out the CPU and using a razor blade to fix the bent pin, if you can straighten it that may help.

1| List your specs like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:

Since you performed an upgrade, we're expecting two sets of specs. One is for before, the other is after the upgrades.

2| Did you perform a clean install for your OS?
