Hi,

I have a problem with my Sony PCV V300G booting up. I see the Sony
logo, Intel logo, and the bios listing primary and secondary master and
slave. And a blinking cursor.

Bootup sequence to the point of failure are shown in the following
pictures:

I called sony support and they talked me through Bios settings but
nothing helped. I originally bought it in Circuit City, CT, but now, I
am in India and taking it back to the store (still in warranty period),
or a service center is not an option.

Please advise me on what I could do to fix this problem.

Thank you

This is a good group in which to post your question. However, you should
have crossposted instead of multiposted. I gave you an answer in the
other group to which you posted. Maybe someone reading the hardware
group will have a better answer for you. In the meantime, here is
information about why multiposting is evil:

I apologise. I don't use a client, and Google Groups allows posting in
only 5 groups at a time.

Thanks for your help, though. Your post has helped me understand the
problem with my computer better.
